Dads and Donuts

Do you remember what it was like as a little kid to get SO excited when your mom or dad would come to school?  Then, do you remember when you were in high school and you didn't want them around anymore?  It is so funny how things changes.  However, in Mrs. Brosey's class on Friday, May 16th - my students were pumped for their dads to visit for our annual Dads and Donuts event!

In order to prepare for this event, we had to complete various activities.  We wanted this day to be special for our dads.  In doing so, we made "Dad Rocks" tags that they could hang anywhere they want - car, refrigerator, office, bags, etc.  Students also illustrated "If you Give your Dad a Donut" book.  Then, during the event - the students read this book with their dad!

We also made Donut cards for the dads, as well as placemats with their footprints.  I LOVE things with their hands and feet.  They are so darn cute!  We made coke cans for the dads that said there were the best pop ever!

What fun things do you do for your moms and dads?? :]
